Shaewoo turns the product listings in an online shop into short videos. This page says what we check before a video is made, what we refuse, what happens when a check cannot be done, and how to report or appeal. It is part of the Acceptable Use Policy and the Terms of Service.

What Shaewoo is, and is not

Shaewoo is an independent product. Its video render draws your own photographs and your own listing text; it does not use AI to generate images, video footage, faces or voices, and it has no feature that swaps, edits or imitates a person's face or voice. That is why it cannot make deepfakes, face-swaps or synthetic people. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Creem, Shopify, Anthropic, Google, Cloudflare or any other company named in our policies.

What is screened, and when

Before any video is made on the website or from the WooCommerce plugin or Odoo module, the words that video will say are sent to the Creem Moderation API and checked against its content policies:

  • Every product, every run. The product's title, brand, type and the start of its description are screened as one request for each product in the run. A run of fifty products makes fifty checks.
  • Anything you type. An opening line, a button's words, or an instruction to re-cut a video is screened before anything is made.
  • Audio you upload. A voiceover or soundtrack is transcribed when you upload it, and its words are screened the same way before the file can be used. A refused file is not kept. If the check cannot run, the file is refused rather than accepted unchecked.
  • Our own filter, as well. Obvious cases in the categories listed in the Prohibited Content Policy are refused by our own check whatever the screening service answers. They are still sent to it, so every request is screened in the same place and a refusal is on record there too.

What happens with the result

  • Allowed: the video is made.
  • Refused or flagged: we treat a flag exactly like a refusal. That product is held back, named in the results so you know which one, and the other products in the run carry on. Nothing is made for the held one, and it does not use your allowance.
  • Screening unavailable: if the check cannot be completed, nothing is made. We never let text through unscreened because a service was down.

We keep a record of each decision (when, where, allowed or refused) and, for a refusal only, a short excerpt so a report or an appeal can be investigated. Screening is automatic, so it can be wrong; see Appeals below.

What we refuse

Sexual or sexually suggestive content, anything involving minors in a sexual or harmful context, synthetic or manipulated media of a real person, companionship or romantic AI characters, harassment, hatred and violence, deception such as invented testimonials or false claims, and the other categories in the Prohibited Content Policy.

Inside the Shopify app

In the Shopify app, words you type are checked by our own category filter on our servers, and anything published can be reported. Product text that Shopify gives us is used only to make your video.

Reporting

Anyone can report a video, including people who have no account: use the report link on the video's share page, or write to abuse@shaewoo.com with the link. We review reports promptly, unpublish the share link while we do, and reply within three business days. Anything involving a minor is reported to the authorities.

Appeals

If a product or request was refused and you think that was wrong, write to support@shaewoo.com with what you were making. A person reads every appeal.

Consequences

A first breach usually means the content is removed and the account warned. Deliberate or repeated attempts to get around screening, and anything involving a minor, end in closure of the account.
